This particular piece has its own fair share of deaths and resurrections. It’s a love-hate relationship with this one; so much so that I almost didn’t wanna finish it for reasons I cannot explain. Maybe I just had one of those moments when you feel everything you do is a joke. But right now I’m just glad I didn’t tear it up in my frustrations and still went on working with it; and that feeling of fulfillment? Yeah, I’m enjoying it right now.
**I had to take it at such angle coz a straight face shot washes out the colors. In fact almost all pictures I took of this wash out the colors, especially on the skin and small line details, and I somehow felt robbed of my efforts. But these are the best among the bunch…It doesn’t look completely polished but I am satisfied nonetheless.

I will post a clearer picture of the one on the right tomorrow. I’ll need to wait for sunrise in order to get a better picture because my camera phone already robs me of the fine color details on the skin and other areas, I don’t want to worsen it by taking a picture with only the light bulb as my source of illumination.

On a not so related topic, I got a job!! (Yay! Broke days no more!) I was busy processing legal papers and pre-employment requirements so I haven’t given all my attention to this piece. I hope I wouldn’t have to sacrifice my painting hours for this new job because, for me, art comes first. After all, I only took the job so I have something to do every time my creativity is on a temporary absence. Hahah.
