A little sneak peek. Watercolor was fun, now I’m sort of over it.
I got her back from the exhibit. It’s so nice to be reunited with her. Charotera lang ang peg:)
I feel this strange happiness in bookmarks that makes me want to start a self-made bookmark collection:)
“…of birds and trees and books and teas”
:watercolor
I thought I should say TADA to fully express the magnitude of the element of surprise but, when written, the interjection does not capture that same jovial quality as when it is actually spoken…I figured it’d be a bit too much so let’s just forget it.
I’m definitely going to have this printed on a shirt because it communicates my unmistakable fondness for birds and trees and books and teas. It was fun doing this.
—P.S I just feel the need to point out that I adore how the picture turned out like the piece had been scanned. I mean, one would not suspect that the photo had been taken using only a camera phone…as in the same camera phone I’ve been using to take pictures of my previous works. In this piece, however, I have utilized the great awesomeness of natural light instead of the dull fluorescent lights.
Hooray, internet. Haven’t logged in for a week or so because where I am right now, the fun that can be exploited from a fast internet connection seems to be an uncommon phenomenon which hasn’t been fully introduced to the people. Anyway, here’s a little peek of what I’m currently working on.
So, I’ve been away from the city for a while to get some relaxation and I just feel the need to tell you that I, with all kindness of fate, have found what I was looking for. I “guested” (char murag true) in an art class organized by a family friend and introduced me to acrylic. I’m in love with this medium at the moment. This is a WIP of my very first acrylic painting. And I am Happy with it, too. Especially the flowers because honestly, I am not good with painting flowers and I wasn’t too confident about painting a whole wreath of them without a reference photo to look at while working but I just went on with it and gathered some flowers in my mind and painted them freehand, without primary sketches whatsoever. It was fun, really. And it’s not half bad, right? The whole experience was exhilarating. It makes me happy that there are aged students who just found their love for art because of taking this class and it’s nice that even though they think they started late, that they’ll have a hard time learning to paint, they are still very eager. Some were even encouraged to take the hobby to the next level. And even though they are busy working-moms, they still find time to attend the class and just have fun with the rest of the younger students.
I will TRY to post a picture of the finished work and the other works of the students after the exhibit.
Trying out my newly bought watercolor paper. Nakaexperience na jud ko ani nga papel. Yey.
**It’d be nice to have a scanner right now.
After a great number of curses and swears I’m done. And I’m quite happy with it, too.
My father asked me to draw his friend because he’s planning to give it to him as a gift.
I’m quite pissed about this one because the quality of the reference photo is that of a webcam’s. I cannot see some fine details…which leaves the rest of the hazy features drawn by assumptions. And it’s my first time to draw an aged man so I’m not really confident about going hasty…So right now, I’m basically a little angry at my father for putting me through this but mostly, I am angry at my self for not believing that I can do it. I HATE SELF-DOUBT.
Rough sketch while waiting for my download. Sadly, the finished piece looks awful so I’m posting this wip instead just so I have something to post. Anyway, I’m just gonna watch episodes of Justice League till this feeling of disappointment is gone.
Hello everyone:)
It’s been a while.
I couldn’t sleep feeling guilty that every artist I know here in tumblr is always practicing their painting skills (doing what they love most) while I, on the other hand, slack off and goof around all day. So I finished this. I’m not good with perspective and landscapes but it’s a start. The background is just like a color sketch actually because I didn’t paint every detail. This just made it to my art wall and it’s my new favorite because it’s one of those very few finished works of mine. Haha. I love the softness of watercolor and I hope you could see the details of my sky (well it’s nothing special, really) I just like how the colors mixed. Alas, It’s the best picture that my phone can take.
Good morning.
Hahaha yey my first personal gif.
Working on this tonight while listening to reggae music (PARA CHUY BA). I would probably finish this sooner if I weren’t always taking internet breaks. But i like the slow progress cuz i don’t have any canvas left so I’m taking it slow and savoring every moment. CHOZ!
