Paid my bills which were a couple of months delayed and whatever was left in my pocket, I spent it all on this book and some “beauty essentials” (hahaha).

So I basically have nothing left for food allowance and I can’t even afford the bus/van fare to go back home to my parents’ and live off with THEIR food stored in THEIR fridge (which, by the way, is something I don’t enjoy doing anymore).

Reading this is how I plan to spend the weekend. I wanted to go out and get a few drinks with friends but I figured it’s not the best way to spend the last remaining cash in my wallet, and besides, I probably couldn’t afford most of the drinks, anyway. Had I gone on with the original plan, I wouldn’t have gotten the most of my money’s worth.

Unemployed and starving but I’ll figure something out. It’s pretty common to be broke in your early twenties, there’s no shame in that. In fact, I find a kind of feint hint of nobility and a good humor that can only turn into a wise anecdote over time in the struggles against twenties-poverty.

Re-reading the messages in my inbox and I just wanna say I have the loveliest followers. It’s crazy that you guys believe in my “talent” more than my parents or I ever will.

I’m still at the point where calling myself an artist makes me feel weird and pretentious but your kind messages somehow lessen that weirdness.

It’s surprising how many of you thought I was a girl. If not for the picture I posted more than a year ago, you wouldn’t have known the truth even to this day (probably). **I knew I never should’ve posted that darn picture.

The Thylacine, commonly known as the Tasmanian Tiger w/c is believed to be extinct for more than 75 years, might still be alive. There are alleged sightings of the species recently, w/c to me is great news because I’ve been fascinated by this creature since I first saw it on a book when I was about 8 or 9. Though it’s yet to be confirmed, the possibility is just pretty darn exciting. It’s not unheard of for some species declared to be extinct to reappear after a very long time. And I’m hoping the sightings hold some truth to it. The inner child in me would be very disappointed if it didn’t.

Above is a picture of the animal just to give you an idea how beautiful a creature it is.

This particular piece has its own fair share of deaths and resurrections. It’s a love-hate relationship with this one; so much so that I almost didn’t wanna finish it for reasons I cannot explain. Maybe I just had one of those moments when you feel everything you do is a joke. But right now I’m just glad I didn’t tear it up in my frustrations and still went on working with it; and that feeling of fulfillment? Yeah, I’m enjoying it right now.

**I had to take it at such angle coz a straight face shot washes out the colors. In fact almost all pictures I took of this wash out the colors, especially on the skin and small line details, and I somehow felt robbed of my efforts. But these are the best among the bunch…It doesn’t look completely polished but I am satisfied nonetheless.

It feels great to finish a painting that’s been in the WIPs bin for months.

Will post a picture of it later tonight (probably). Still waiting for the perfect afternoon light for the “pictorial”. I just have one problem with watercolor, though. Most often when you take a pic of your work, the colors on the picture wash out. And you end up feeling cheated coz you spent a lot of time getting to that desired effect but it doesn’t show on the picture.

I really enjoyed the second book more than I could say for the first. In fact I couldn’t put it down. When I read the first book months ago, I didn’t think it’d be so interesting. I guess that was because I read it a day after I finished A Dance With Dragons and I still had a book-hangover from the previous read that I initially dismissed it thinking it’s sophomoric compared to The Game of Thrones series to say the least. But when I had cleared my head of any GoT bias and read the book for what it actually is without any prejudice, it turned out to be a really great read.

And the Sedric-Carson bromance is a welcome bonus. I’m now a fan.
